Navigation Aids
There is a Navigation Bar on the left side of every web page. If you are having trouble finding information, you can always return to the Home Page
from anywhere on the website, either by using the Navigation bar, or the link at the bottom of every web page.
The limited space on a Navigation button allows only a one or two word description of the link. Here is a brief overview of the topics on the Navigation bar and additional links for more information:
- Consumer Info
- This takes you to the main consumer information page, which links to all information about psychological problems and treatment, as well as information on selecting a psychologist.
- PsychologyInfo - This is the main page for Psychology Information Online. You can access all other sections of the website from this location.
- A Psychologist Is - Learn what a psychologist is, and how psychologists are trained.
- Starting Therapy - How to select a psychologist. All the questions you should ask, and all the factors you should consider.
- Compare Doctors
- A comparison of psychologists and psychiatrists. Describes the similarities and differences between psychologists and psychiatrists in both training and practice.
- Directory
- The National Directory of Psychologists, which lists psychologists across the United States, sorted by state, town, and specialty (coming soon). Includes contact information for all State Psychology Licensing Boards and State Psychological Associations. Psychologists can learn how to be listed.
- Treatment List
- Describes psychological services, including counseling and psychotherapy, group therapy, stress management training, assertiveness training, marital counseling, family therapy, and psychological testing.
- Problem List
- Information about psychological problems and disorders, including diagnosed mental disorders, behavior problems, marriage and family problems, life stage issues, and social factors affecting life adjustment and life satisfaction.

- Book reviews and ratings of psychology self-help books and professional psychology books, with a link to Amazon.com and other publishing outlets if you want to purchase any of the books listed.
